They're back. And yes, they still have your sock.
Upload a few photos of the dog or cat you miss and RefVid brings them back for one more zoomie: tearing out of a sunlit meadow with a rainbow behind them, ears flapping, a stolen sock clamped in their mouth, then skidding to a stop to look at you like nothing ever happened. Same face, same coat, same attitude, made from the photos already on your phone.

Made from these photos
What you get
- Your own pet from 1–5 photos, old phone photos included
- 2 shots, 5 seconds, wide 16:9
- Meadow, rainbow, and one stolen sock
- No watermark
Who it’s for
For anyone who misses a pet and would rather laugh than cry about them, for families making a pet tribute video to share at a memorial or on the anniversary, for vets and pet crematoriums offering keepsakes, and for friends looking for a gift that is not another sympathy card.
The prompt
What the studio fills in for you. Your subject takes the place in brackets; you can change any of it.
- Shot 1A sunlit meadow of tall wildflowers under a warm golden sky, a soft rainbow arching in the distance: [your pet] bursts out of the flowers at full zoomies straight toward the camera, ears flapping, tongue out, a red and white striped sock clamped proudly in its mouth.
- Shot 2Close-up in the same meadow at golden hour, the rainbow glowing behind: [your pet] skids to a stop, drops the striped sock on the grass, sits down, tilts its head at the camera and wags its tail, looking very pleased with itself.
Make it yours
Swap the stolen goods
The sock is a placeholder for their crime of choice: write a tennis ball, a slipper, a whole sandwich, the TV remote or the cat's favourite hair tie.
Their favourite place
Replace the meadow with the beach they dragged you to every Sunday, the back garden, the park by the old house or the sunny spot on the sofa.
Make a whole tribute
Make three or four clips (zoomies, a nap in the sun, a head tilt for treats) and join them into one pet tribute video in your Films.
Photos that work best
Pets: 1–5 sharp photos of the same pet, one face-on at eye level and one of the whole body from the side, so the coat, markings and size come through. Daylight beats flash, which turns eyes green or red.
How it works
- Sign in and add your pet from 1–5 photos. Each subject is saved once, so every later template takes one tap.
- The studio opens with this template filled in: both shots, 5 seconds, 16:9. Change any word you like.
- Press Generate. The clip is ready in a few minutes, without a watermark, and the same subject is there for the next one.
Questions
- Can I make a pet memorial AI video from old photos?
- Yes. One clear photo of the face works, and RefVid draws the missing angles from it; 3 to 5 photos from different sides keep the markings and grey muzzle closest to the pet you remember.
- Does an AI dead pet video have to be sad?
- Not this one. The prompt has your pet doing what they did best, running flat out with something they stole, and then sitting down looking very pleased with themselves. Change the action to their own signature move.
- Can I show the pet tribute video at a memorial or a funeral?
- Yes. The video is yours, with no watermark: download it, play it at the service, post it, or join several clips into one longer film.
- Does it work for cats and other pets?
- Yes. The prompt only says "your pet"; dogs, cats, rabbits and other pets all work from a few clear photos. A cat will probably refuse to give the sock back.
- How much does this template cost?
- A new RefVid account’s free credits cover one 3-second clip. The full template is 5 seconds: buy it as a single video, with no plan, or use credits from a pack or plan. Current prices are on the pricing page.
