This policy explains what personal data RefVid collects, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The controller is RefVid, based in Ireland. Contact: hello@refvid.com.
What we collect
Account data: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. Content: the reference images you upload, your prompts, generated videos, and any rating or comment you leave. Billing data: plan, purchases and credit history; card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us. Technical data: IP address and browser information in server logs, and anti-abuse signals from Cloudflare Turnstile.
Why we use it (legal basis)
To provide the service you signed up for — sign-in, storing your assets, generating videos, emailing you sign-in links and “video ready” notices (contract). To process payments and keep accounting records (contract, legal obligation). To prevent abuse and keep the service secure (legitimate interests). To show your video or comment on the site only if you opt in (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
Who processes it for us
Cloudflare (hosting, file storage, Turnstile), PlanetScale (database), Amazon Web Services (email delivery), fal.ai and the model provider it routes to (video generation — your reference images and prompt are sent for each generation), Stripe (payments), and Google (sign-in, if you choose it). Some of these process data outside the EU; transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
We do not sell personal data and do not use your content to train AI models.
How long we keep it
Account data and content for as long as your account exists; deleting an asset deletes its reference images, and deleting your account deletes your content within 30 days. Billing records for the period tax law requires (currently six years in Ireland). Server logs for up to 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction, deletion or a portable copy of your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent, by emailing hello@refvid.com. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or the authority where you live.

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms against abuse. If we add analytics cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
